Event Information

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is held annually by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) and we are participating as one of their nation-wide hosts this year. The films are centered around environmental activism including river/water issues, pollution, indigenous rights and adventure stories. The event will be co-hosted by River Revitalization Foundation and the UW-Milwaukee Outdoor Pursuits Program. We are community partners working to protect and advocate for Milwaukee’s urban green spaces and introduce individuals to outdoor recreation and education in their own backyards. Our goal is to have a diverse audience of students and community members who will be inspired to take action on behalf of the environment after watching the films.

There will be an in-person and virtual event, both held on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 at 7:00pm. The live event will be at the UWM Cinema located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union, 2200 E Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53211.

Public parking is available in the Union Garage adjacent to the Student Union for $1/hour. Doors will open at 6:30pm with concessions and raffle tickets available for purchase at the door (cash only).

NOTE: An in-person ticket also grants you access to watch virtually in case you can no longer attend in person! The full film program can be viewed on demand through March 1st, 2022.

COVID 19 POLICY: Students, employees, and visitors on all UWM campuses are required to wear masks indoors when sharing a room or in a common area or other space with another person.
